    National Park Celaque

The highest mountain chain of Honduras is covered by a rich and dense cloud forest with spectacular views, especially at sunrise on a blanket of clouds. Celaque produces a lot of clear, cool water, running down from her 12 rivers.
Choose from several adventure sports: hike trails of varied length and difficulty, and go through the air by several zip line routes. It is also a great area for bird watching, especially following the “Cause De La Vida” Trail. The grand prize for bird lovers is the shy quetzal. You can also find jaguars, ocelots, tapirs, coatis and whitetail deer.
Climbing  Mount Las Minas, the highest place in Honduras (2,870 m/9,414 ft.), can take 2 days, 7 hours of ascent. You’ll see why this was a stronghold for the Lenca warriors resisting the early Spanish conquerors.
Do you think you might enjoy the densely green natural beauty of this "Box of Water" (Celaque in the Lenca language)?
