As incredible as this seems, this is the number of bird species that inhabit an area of the Pico Bonito National Park.This is one of the 107 protected areas covering almost a quarter of Honduras, a Caribbeancoast wrapped in turquoise and the peaceful waters of the Gulf of Fonseca.They add up to 27,862 sq. km/ 10,757 sq. mi- more than double the protected areas of Costa Rica, and larger than the island of Sicily or Belize.
